My goal in working on the project of producing artifacts using artificial intelligence is to democratize art. the artwork is a valuable commodity and being rare and non-repetitive makes it precious. Unfortunately the artist hardly ever gets a decent share of his/her own work value while sales intermediaries extract most of it. This project is the artist’s collaboration with artificial intelligence allowing more people to own single and original works. In October 2018, Edmond de Belamy’s portrait as the first portrait produced by a joint AI collaboration and artist Obvious, sold for $432,500 at a public auction, since then AI technology has made further improvements and is able to assist the artist in producing works of higher resolution, greater beauty and wider capacities. Artifacts that can be delivered to the audience at a lower cost.
